My name is Chris Thomas and I have been working in the voice over industry for the last 5 years with
VoiceHunter.com and
VOCareer.com; as an office manager and audio producer. During this time, I have worked with some of the best voice over talent in the world. I have seen many of their triumphs and I have also witnessed many of the day-to-day challenges they face.
I started VO Edit by Design not only because I very much enjoy working with voice over actors and editing audio for VO, but also because I believe that this is a much needed service.
There are plenty of production companies and audio shops that specialize in fully produced sound design. However, there are none that cater to the needs of voice talent.
Those who frequently record long-form voice overs for e-learning, narration, IVR, message-on-hold, and audio books, etc., have the pain-staking process of cleaning their files, selecting the best takes, and often times even separating the file into smaller files.
Since most voice actors are one-man or one-woman shops, projects like this can leave you without the time needed to service other clients, market yourself, and answer auditions. My goal is to keep costs reasonable which gives you the flexibility to pay for editing out-of pocket or to add the cost into the quotes you give your clients.
